Sophie Davidsohn was born into a Jewish family in Kletzko (Polish: Kłecko) near Posen (Polish: Poznań) in 1874. In Fürstenwalde she lived as a widow in a house in Fischerstraße. It belonged to the town’s ensemble of medieval houses, which were demolished in 1975. On 1 March 1943, Sophie had to submit a declaration of assets. The very next day, as part of the 32nd mass transport connected to the so-called “Factory Action”, she was deported along with 1,756 others to the Auschwitz-Birkenau extermination camp, where she was murdered.
